Your Free Firm Account
What a firm can do before starting the trial, and what the trial unlocks.
Every firm starts on the Free plan. It exists so you can set your firm up and look around before committing, but it is deliberately limited: the point of the platform is bringing client families on, and that is the part the trial unlocks.
How Do I Know Which Plan My Firm Is On?
Look for the Start Free Trial button.
A firm still on Free carries Start Free Trial in the top bar and a banner across the dashboard. Once you are on the trial or a paid plan, that button disappears and a PREMIUM badge appears in the sidebar instead.

What Can I Do on the Free Plan?
Set your firm up and bring your colleagues in.
- Invite team members. Your colleagues can join and get their own sign-in.
- Fill in your firm profile, including your logo.
- Read the libraries. The Advisor Library, Family Library, and Advisor Academy are open, so you can go through the material before your first client conversation.
- Work through "Get Your Firm Ready", the checklist in the sidebar.
What Can I Not Do Until I Start the Trial?
Invite client families.
This is the one that matters. A free firm cannot bring households onto the platform, so the dashboard counters stay at zero and there is nothing for your team to work on.
Also held back until the trial: Chat with Kin, the white-labelled client experience, and unlimited legacy letters and milestones for the families you invite.
What Does the Trial Give Me?
Thirty days of the full platform, with no charge during it.
Selecting Start Free Trial opens a summary of exactly what you get.

- Invite unlimited families
- Add up to four colleagues to your trial, which is five seats including you
- Chat with Kin
- A fully white-labelled client experience
- Unlimited legacy letters and milestones for your clients
You can also Stay on the Free Plan from this dialog and come back later, though the trial is once per firm so it is worth starting when you are ready to actually onboard families.
Do I Have to Pay to Start the Trial?
No. There is no charge during the thirty days.
A card is taken when you activate, and the checkout states the date the first real payment would fall on. You can cancel at any point before the thirty days are up.
Billing for advisory firms covers the trial, seats, and what happens when it ends.
Do My Client Families Pay Anything?
No, ever. A household you invite gets the full product through your firm's plan and never sees a billing screen.
