Advisor Activation
Step by step through the second phase, which each advisor completes for themselves.
The second phase of the Firm Roadmap. Seven tasks, and unlike Firm Readiness they are per advisor rather than per firm.
Seven tasks, and unlike Firm Readiness they are per advisor rather than per firm. Each person on your team works through their own copy.
Step 1: Watch the Family Activation Welcome Video
The phase opens with a film showing how a family experiences the platform, so you can guide your first client family knowing what they are looking at.
Watch Video plays it over the roadmap, and as in Firm Readiness, watching is not the same as finishing. Use the arrow beside the button and choose Mark as Complete when you are done.
Step 2: Complete the Advisor Academy Course
A seven minute course covering the platform essentials, so you can answer a family's questions without hesitating.
Select Enroll in Course and you are taken to Course 1: Foundation in the Advisor Academy, which introduces Total Family's philosophy and the role advisors play. The page lists the curriculum chapter by chapter before you start, and Start on Academy begins it.
Your progress syncs back to the roadmap, so there is nothing to mark by hand.
Step 3: Explore the Jones Family
The Jones Family is a demo household, and this task is a guided tour of it. Select Explore Jones Family and you land on their profile with a walkthrough running over the top.
The tour moves through the parts of a family you will actually be looking at: the Family Snapshot and its completion percentage, the Members list, and the counts of milestones, legacy letters, and quotes. It runs five steps with Back, Next, and Skip.
Worth taking slowly. This is the screen you will be reading whenever you check on a real client family.
Step 4: Experience Total Family Yourself
Invite Your Family opens the same invitation form you will use for clients, and sends it to your own household.
Fill in first name, last name, and email, choose a Life Phase, and confirm the Partner Advisors field, which defaults to you. Select Invite Family.
This is the task most people skip, and it is the one that changes how you sell. An advisor who has written their own personal vision talks about it differently to one who has only read about it.
Step 5: Review the Reading Tasks
Three tasks have nothing to submit. You read the material and confirm it yourself with Mark as Complete.
- Review Client Enrolment Best Practices, on identifying the right first family to invite. It comes with a Kin prompt you can run against your own client list to get a suggested starting point.
- Review the Legacy Toolkit, with its own Kin prompt on how the toolkit supports your client families.
- Subscribe to Visionary Advisor, the podcast covering practice growth and insights from advisors building multi-generational relationships.
Because nothing verifies these, they are the easiest to tick off without doing and the easiest to leave sitting. The count moving is the only signal either way.
Following Your Team's Progress
View Advisor Progress on the phase header opens My Team, where selecting a person shows their panel: their role, whether they are active, when they were last in, and how many families they have.
This is where a stalled phase gets diagnosed. The phase count tells you the team is behind; this tells you who.
Next: Family Activation, where a household actually starts using the platform.
