Family Activation

Step by step through the final phase: inviting a client family, assigning them, and what counts as activated.

The final phase of the Firm Roadmap. Two tasks, and the second is locked until the first is done.

Two tasks, and the second is locked until the first is done. The phase is short but it is the one that decides whether any of the earlier work mattered, because it is where a household actually starts using the platform.

Step 1: Invite Your First Client Family

Invite a Family on the first task opens the invitation form.

Opening the invitation form from the roadmap. The second task sits below it, locked.

Fill in the head of household's First Name, Last Name, and Email, choose their Life Phase, and confirm the Partner Advisors field, which defaults to you. More than one advisor can be attached.

Total Family asks you to confirm before anything is sent, restating the name and the exact address the invitation will go to. That is the moment to check the address, because a typo here sends the invitation to nobody.

Select Send Invite and the household appears in your Families list.

Completing the form, confirming the address, and the new family appearing in the Families list.

Step 2: Assign the Family to the Task

Here is the part that catches people out. Sending the invitation does not complete the task. The roadmap does not assume the family you just invited is the one this task means, so you tell it which.

Use the Assign Client Family selector on the task and choose the household.

Assigning a family to the task. The count moves to 1 of 2, the overall percentage climbs, and the second task unlocks.

Three things happen at once:

  • Invite Your First Client Family completes, and the family's name replaces the selector.
  • Family Activation moves to 1 of 2, and the overall figure climbs with it.
  • Guide Family Through Activation stops saying Locked and offers Go to Family.

If you have invited a family and the phase still reads 0 of 2, this assignment is the step that was missed.

Step 3: Guide the Family Through Activation

The second task is not something you tick off yourself. It tracks what the family does, and it expands into the three things that count as activated:

  • Personal Vision for the head of household
  • First Milestone
  • First Legacy Letter

Go to Family takes you to their profile, where you can see how far they have got. Until they produce those three, the task stays open no matter what you do on your side.

This is the honest end of the roadmap. Everything before it is preparation; this is a family writing something down.
